Village of Zalissya

The village of Zalissya is the first stop and the first contact with the Exclusion Zone. Before the Chernobyl tragedy, more than 3,000 residents lived in the village. This village was under administraition of the collective agricultural co-operative "Druzhba" and had more than 5,300 hectares of agricultural land, a school, a palace of culture and a maternity hospital. Now the village of Zalesye is completely abandoned by the inhabitants.
